LOCATION

De Vries van Heystplantsoen is a small peaceful park, about 100 years old.image

Problems:

The public garden is enclosed by three busy streets. The traffic causes a lot of noise, what is maybe a bit disturbing for the peaceful experience in the public garden.image

Only a few people visited the public garden.[1]

Maybe only if you want some time alone and consider several things in live.

People like students don’t visit it at all.interview student

The other thing is the vegetation. Especially during the summer, this place is so dense with vegetation that you don’t notice and realize that between all the busy streets there in that little piece of beautiful nature.

What kinds of people are related to ‘de Vries van Heystplantsoen’?

-students and employees especially from the faculty of architecture.

-visitors and employees of Delft Science center

-inhabitants from the new students apartments

-inhabitants of the neighborhood

-passers in cars, busses, on bikes or by foot

CONCEPT DESIGN

With our design we should connect to this people, or at least at one targetgroup.

We should connect the side to this group or these groups in a certain way.

That is possible to guide them to the place, by making it more visible for example if they pass by.

But you can also virtually connect them so that there can also be a virtual connection all the time (smartphones and apps).

To make this place meaningful and adaptable for any moment we want to do something with time.

Maybe it’s possible to connect them with the past present and future in a certain way.

Make them aware of time. Make memories
