Our goal is to preserve the introversion of the De Vries van Heystplantsoen site while improving community interaction with the area. We feel that conceptually our project should revisit it's original intention as a common ground to students and staff; it should not be a nostalgic site restoration but rather an adaptation to current campus and social conditions The project should involve current users of the park and recognize that this site is meant as a space for people with different demands. Our intervention for the site would be a constant programmatic negotiation between a social gathering structure and the inherited qualities of the site.
