Concept

Through conducting research that attempted to define intimacy in terms of its components, we became aware of the significance edge conditions. Our concept deals with enhancing intimacy through the manipulation of thresholds or border conditions.

Changing border conditions appealing to the natural human consciousness of centrality and verticality (Bachelard, pp.). Through nesting spaces and experimenting with various densities and dimensions of both thresholds and edge conditions, we can evaluate our understanding of how the edges of space can encourage intimacy among users.
