The Hyperbody Msc1 project this semester offers students the opportunity to design, fabricate, erect and operate an architectural intervention between the Faculty of Architecture and the Delft Science Center. The site has no distinctive use and is essentially unused, the introduction of any activity will increase use. Disruption will occur on the scale of the passer-by as opposed to the wider social context (demographic). Therefore the introduction of an intervention even at a small scale begins to have some impact on rhythm.

Infrastructure for activities: The activity does not have to be disruptive by its nature but can instead be an activity which diverts or stops people doing what they had intended to. However we would also like to encourage a more diverse range of users and activities. We should look at trans-programming, as perhaps the integration and combination of activities within a structure can create diversity. From our original list of imagined uses the most relevant and plausible are: fire, botanical garden, library, labyrinth and playground. We should consider not only the disruptive nature of the activity but also whether it can be developed to be autonomous. We need to study and explore the characteristics of these activities.
