Fire ecology Pasen Zondag Hindu funeral ceremony Urban intimacy

Disruption will occur on the scale of the passer-by as opposed to that of the demographic. In this way the introduction of an intervention even at a small scale can begin to have an impact on local rhythm. Infrastructure for activities: The activity does not have to be disruptive by its nature but can instead be an activity which diverts or stops people doing what they had intended to. However we would also like to encourage a more diverse range of users and activities. These activities should be autonomous and will exist as a public infrastructure to be used as and when it is necessary.

Intimacy can be magnified through the addition of park space to the existing park. This can act as a buffer zone for the existing spaces to help protect it from road noise as well as creating a new public space. The introduction of activities such as the fire will provide points of intimacy. Although our structure acts as a physical barrier, it is permeable to light, which means that fires can also create an intimate space on the other side of the structure.
