WHY
WHY DO WE NEED A NEW PUBLIC SPACE IN THIS SITE (PROBLEMS)
The site is fully isolated this is because of the dense vegatation at the border of the park. Hereby there is no visual contact between the in and outside. This makes people hesitate to enter because the park is a unknown space.
When entered the site is not attractive. This has to do with the vegetation. There is a lack of maintanance and the kind of vegetation is not attractive to look at.
The site also lacks security.(You feel afraid of being there). Because there is no visual connection with the outside space there is no social control.
SITE OPPORTUNITIES
The site is located on the campus of the TU Delft in-between BK city, student housing and a botanic garden. This has its advantage that is has lots of possible clients passing by. Also BK-city and the student dwelling both have a lack of common space for the students to work, relax etc. The site can become a new meeting place.
Although the vegetation is not attractive the fact that there is a green unculivated area is a opportunity. Because we think there is a need for a attractive (green) outside space.

How they can interact with each other? Past reflects the memories. In Present, MEMORIES are formulated and created real-time, possibilities and aims In future, we see the pragmatic view of our aims. In other words, past is fixed…..or STATIC. Present is semi fixed….or QUASI-STATIC
Future is flexible….or DYNAMIC
This timeline could be directly translated in terms of our site forces….Both the park and its adjoining roads seem to have some sense of dynamism. The road is the means of transportation connecting various vantage points to one another....INTERCONNECTION.
The park though seems to be very static is still dynamic in nature. This state can be defined as QUASI STATIC state. It’s a state that occurs so slowly that it ensures that the system will go through a sequence of states that are close to state of equilibrium. For example the change in seasons and it effect on the landscape and site conditions.

Sketches illustrate concept of dynamic spatial linkages that is triggered from HUMAN CORE by the change in time. Different interactions can be created by working out a smart mechanism.
Here we do not want the visitor to feel intimidated nor suppressed by the spatial quality, on the other hand human’s presence and reaction would be the main parameter which would later decide the structural design + spatial phenomenon.
The structure can behave like an organism or eco-system. The surface is sensor controlled and react to external influences like air pressure , temperature, humidity, air pollution and solar radiation.
