Concept: Creating a HyperPublic space, making direct interaction possible between the users of this space and enhancing their collaboration, knowledge and general information gain. This space should be easily accessible without excessive borders or restrictions.

Challenge

Our goal is to enhance the interaction between both atoms and teacher, now and in the future. With this enhancement the atom's designs will be better. Qualitative questionnaires will be needed to map the problems and answers of the actors.


Problems:

The interaction between the atoms is missing or either very laborious. From our own experience, knowing what the other atoms are all about in one quick view is not possible. The wiki does provide all the information needed, but it is very tedious and hard to read. Letting atoms connect with each other to form projects is very hard unless these atoms spend precious time on interaction.

Next to the atom interactions, the relation to the teachers can be a lot better providing tools and information needed for the design processes of all the atoms.

Opportunities:

We can try to find ways to let this process work much more fluently, creating a platform where all the actors (atoms and teachers), now and in the future, can interact with each other in order to make better designs. Through us we will enhance the architecture made by the atom's projects.

How:

We will create tools contributing to the demands of the actors. These can either be digital or physical tools. These tools don't necessarily have to relate to the site, because the relation is already made through the other atom's projects

Analysis

In order to design the tools needed to enhance the interaction between the atoms and the teacher, now and in the future, we have to analyze the demands for this interaction.

Self reflection

First we started by mapping our own demands and problems we stumbled upon during this first phase. This created a starting point for our challenge

Atom questionnaire

Next we interviewed the atoms through a questionnaire. We will do this at the start and multiple times during our design process. This way we will map the all changing demands of the atoms, followed by different designed tools.

Atom Interviews

Some atoms showed interest in learning more about certain programs like grasshopper or processing. We interviewed some teachers, which gave workshops in the past, about their interest in this project.

Validators

In order to test our designs, we need validators. These validators are the users of our designed tools.

The idea behind the activities is that Atom 1 (Joost and Koen) will provide a start to create the community for our platform. We will invest in different kind of activities so that the users will be able to interact with each other. The goal of our platform is to create a community which helps each other in making better designs. This can of course be either through interaction in the digital and physical world.

The rewards concept is all about build up the community which will help each other with different kind of problems. In order to let users really use this platform we have to give them something back, an even exchange of services. These services can either be information or other forms of direct help the atom/person needs. It can also be a discount on certain services like study trips etc. If u however do not participate in this platform, and do not help others, then these privileges will not be available

Rewards

We strive to create a interactive community which helps eachother with the final goal to making better designs. This interaction takes place on different levels, like a n online forum, an information data base, and real-life activities which we will organize for u. Through working together different atoms or even persons can use their strengths wintin this community, helping the other users when needed.

The information concept is all about making as much information general available for all users of the platform. The idea is not what we (Joost and Koen) will add all the information, but that any user will give his or her input to the community. This way there will be relevant information enriched from multiple sources and our platfrom will be an addition to anyone's design process.


Atom 1 will be a driving force to start the information flow and make it as effortless as possible. Actors can choose different ways to find and share information in our community. They might read our weekly e-mail update, Facebook page, Twitter account, RSS feeds coming from our main site HyperPublic.nl and even more in the future.
